Over the years, there have been many famous stock investors. Some you may recognize by name while others simply made their fortunes and quietly slipped into the woodwork. Some of the ones that are better known are listed here.

Benjamin Graham was very often referred to as the Father of Value Investing. He was the mentor to Warren Buffett who, incidentally, is also a very well known market investor. Graham was a professional investor as well as an American economist. He authored two very popular investment books and is considered to be one of the first elements of Fundamental Analysis.

Warren Buffet is considered to be one of the most successful market investors in history. He again was mentored by Graham and went on to make his own name in the trading game. Throughout his early investment career along with his later years, Buffett is considered to have captured the essence of stock market trading.

Peter Lynch, the former manager of Fidelity Magellan Mutual Funds is also considered a famous investor. He had an amazing record of accomplishment with mutual funds and spent some time after the market to educate others on how to invest properly and intelligently.

Phil Town authored a book on investing called Rule #1. He began his early career as a river guide and lived below poverty level for many years. He had no idea about how to invest or how to handle his finances in his earlier days. During the early 1980s however, he began his career in investing and is today considered to be one of the most famous and successful market investors of all time.

Of course, these are only a handful of the successful and famous investors that have graced Wall Street over the past few years. There have been and will be others to take the stock market trade by storm.
